Shoe Connection has the following Privacy Policy to demonstrate our promise to provide total privacy and total security to all of our customers. Shoe Connection has put in place policies and systems to protect customers during information gathering practices and transactions.

What personal information do we collect?

You may give us information about yourself, such as your name, address, email address and telephone numbers, when, for example, you become a registered Shoe Connection member or subscribe to our e-newsletter. If you do not give this information, we may not be able to provide goods or services to you. When you visit our website we may collect more information, such as the address of your Internet Service Provider, the name of the web page directing you, and your clicks and activity on our site.

Use of your information

Shoe Connection, and parent company Banks Group Ltd, does not sell or rent your personal information to any third parties. We will only release account and other personal information if we believe release is appropriate to comply with law; assist court proceedings; enforce or apply our terms and conditions; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Shoe Connection and it's parent company Banks Group Ltd, our users, or others.

Email

It is the policy of Shoe Connection to send our members emails throughout the purchasing process and other newsletter emails they elect to receive. Further, it is our policy to immediately remove any member from any mailing list upon the member's request. In addition, Shoe Connection will send out promotional material to its e-newsletter subscribers promoting material related to Shoe Connection and/or Banks Group Ltd. Should you prefer not to be contacted, please let us know and we will ensure that your name is withheld.

We do not sell our mailing list, nor do we disclose private information to any other person or company. Occasionally we may contact you to obtain further information or to offer other products or services that we feel may interest you.

Emailing Tools

Shoe Connection provides tools on its website to tell friends about products, and send out wishlists to friends and family. These tools must not be misused in any way to send spam or other content which would breach our Privacy Policy or Terms & Conditions. We do not permanently store, sell, or rent these email messages or email addresses.

Membership Registration

Our site's registration form requires you to provide us with contact information and may also require demographic information. Shoe Connection may use your contact information to communicate with you when necessary.

Membership Removal

If you wish to have your registration removed from our directory for any reason, simply send us an email request to info@shoeconnection.co.nz with the subject 'Remove Membership'. We will send you a confirmation email to confirm that you have been removed from our database.

Updating Your Personal Information

Shoe Connection provides you with options and ways in which you can alter your personal data, including changing your email address, password, phone number etc. You may obtain confirmation from us as to whether or not we hold personal information about you. You may also request a copy of the information and/or request that corrections or changes are made to it. Delivery Address Details

Shoe Connection enables you to save one delivery address which we will store against your membership profile. When you buy an item you have the option of entering a new delivery address which must be your own or of someone you trust. If you are unable to be present during the time of delivery the responsibility lies with you to provide a third party to receive the parcel.

Control of Your Password

All Shoe Connection members are responsible for all actions taken with your username, email address and password. Therefore we do not recommend that you disclose your Shoe Connection membership password to any third parties. If you choose to share your username, email address and password or your information with third parties, you are responsible for all actions taken with this information and therefore you should review that third party's Privacy Policy. For your security Shoe Connection does not store members credit card information.

Credit Card Security

Shoe Connection constantly works diligently to protect the security of your personal information, including all credit card information. Your credit card details do not get processed or transmitted through Shoe Connection's website; all transactions are processed via a totally secure payment service provider Direct Payment Solutions (DPS). Shoe Connection uses DPS to provide this service and to host and manage the payment page. All transaction sessions are stored and processed in encrypted strings. Your credit card details are not held by Shoe Connection and cannot be accessed by Shoe Connection staff. However they may be held by Direct Payment Solutions. Shoe Connection Gift Cards

Unfortunately Shoe Connection does not currently provide a facility to redeem Shoe Connection Gift Cards online. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have a valid Shoe Connection Gift Card and would like to place an order please either email customerservice@shoeconnection.co.nz or call 0800 769 258 and we will be able to help.

A Gift Card will expire 12 months after date of issue. To redeem the Gift Card, simply enter your card code and unique PIN in the fields provided at the time of purchase. This pre-paid Gift Card is redeemable for goods sold online at RoyalT.co.nz. The Gift Card value includes GST. Not redeemable for cash or another gift card. Any unused balance will not be refunded or credited upon card expiry. Change will not be given. Void if altered or defaced. Will not be replaced or honoured if damaged, lost, stolen or the subject of fraudulent presentation. Gift Cards hold no value until activated in the Issuers Gift Card system. You must spend all the value of the gift card on you order or forfeit the remaining value.

Cookies

Shoe Connection website uses a technology called cookies. A cookie is a small element of data that our website may send to your computer. Shoe Connection mostly uses 'session' cookies, which are removed from your computer 20 minutes after you leave shoeconnection.co.nz. The use of cookies helps Shoe Connection to provide you with a better experience during the use of our website by allowing us to understand what areas of the site are of interest to you. You may configure your web browser to not accept cookies, although you may experience a loss of functionality as a result. Cookies are widely used on most major websites.

Other information we collect

Shoe Connection collect and use additional information to carry out internal research on our users' demographics, interests, and behaviour to better understand and serve you and our community. This information may include the URL that you just came from (whether this URL is on our site or not), which URL you next go to (whether this URL is on our site or not), what browser you are using, and your IP address. If you send us personal correspondence, such as emails or letters, or if other users or third parties send us correspondence about your activities or postings on the site, we may collect such information into a file specific to you.
